If your caravan is stolen or damaged beyond economical repair, at our discretion we will replace the caravan with:
a) A new one of the same make and model, or
b) A new one of an equivalent make and model, or
c) Pay the cash equivalent.

If your caravan contents are lost, stolen or damaged beyond economical repair, at our discretion we will:
a) Replace the item or part, or
b) Pay the cost of repairing the item, or
c) If you choose to select your own supplier, we will only pay up to the amount it would have cost to replace or repair using our own suppliers, or
d) Make a cash payment.

We will not pay the cost of replacing any undamaged item or parts of items forming part of a set, suite, carpet or of a matching colour or design, if the remaining item or items can still be used and the loss or damage happens within a clearly definable area, or to a special part and replacements cannot be matched.
The sums insured as shown on your policy schedule must represent the full replacement value as new at the time of the loss or damage.

Your caravan must be 5 years or under at the time of inception or renewal of your policy to be entitled to this option.

If your caravan is stolen or damaged beyond economical repair, we will pay you the value of the caravan at the time of its loss or destruction. If your caravan contents are lost, stolen or damaged beyond economical repair, we will pay you up to the Market Value of your item(s) at the time of their loss or destruction, providing the sum insured is adequate.
If you insure your caravan on market value basis then you will be paid the current value of your caravan, based on the valuation listed in the most recent Glass’s Guide.

Yes – the CaravanPlan Insurance static policy will cover as standard the cost of any repairs needed following damage caused by storms and floods.

The policy will cover loss or damage to your contents and personal items such as; household goods Including; bedding, BBQs, garden furniture, refrigerators, sleeping bags, tables, personal items including clothing. The policy will also include audio and visual equipment such as tv’s, radios, satellite dishes.
Caravan contents are covered providing that they are in the caravan at the time of loss or damage. This policy does not cover any single item worth more than £500.

Any items used solely or partly for business, profession or trade purposes. personal possessions including; jewellery, watches, cameras, photographic equipment, video cameras and accessories, mobile phones, computer equipment and gaming consoles. Money of any kind including credit or debit cards, cheques, cryptocurrency or other documents of value.

Yes – friends and family cover can be purchased as an optional extra, provided the caravan is used solely for leisure/holiday purposes and you do not receive a rental income from it. If you are entitled to claim under this benefit, it will be shown on your policy schedule.

We will pay up to the maximum amount shown on your policy schedule, if during your use or ownership of the caravan you cause; accidental bodily injury or death to any person and/or accidental damage to third party property (property belonging to someone other than you).

We cover the insured property for holiday use only. If you purchase a CaravanPlan Insurance policy you will be unable to use your caravan in connection with any trade, business or profession. You will not quality for this insurance policy if you use the caravan as a permanent residence.

No, we can only provide cover for a caravan that you own.

Yes, we offer up to a maximum 20% no claims discount depending upon the number of claim free years you have.

No, CaravanPlan insurance will not pay any claims arising due to damage caused by pets.

No, CaravanPlan insurance will not pay any claims arising due to damage caused by woodworm, beetles, moths, insects or vermin.

No, even if the optional add-on ‘Friends and Family’ cover has been purchased, the CaravanPlan insurance will not provide cover for damaged caused by paying guests.

Your caravan must be sited on a registered licensed holiday static caravan site.

Yes, if your freezer accidentally breaks down or the electricity or gas supply accidentally fails, you can claim up to £250 (including VAT) to replace damage to frozen food.

The maximum age we can insure a static caravan is for 30 years.

We will pay you up to £1,500 towards replacing your caravan locks and keys.

No, the caravan must be sited on a licensed holiday park in either; England, Scotland, Wales, the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Northern Ireland.

No, the CaravanPlan Insurance is specifically designed for static caravans and can not be purchased to provide cover for chalets or holiday lodges.

Anyone who has been a permanent resident of the United Kingdom for six months before purchasing the policy.

Static Caravan Important Advice

Draining down your water system for winter unoccupancy

If you are planning on leaving your caravan unoccupied between the 1st November to the 31st March then you are required to drain down the entire system to prevent water freezing in the pipes and causing damage to your caravan.

The terms of your CaravanPlan Insurance require you to do the following;

  • Turn off the water at the stopcock; and
  • Turn on taps and showers and leave in the open position, ensuring nothing obstructs plugholes; and
  • Flush toilets, ensuring all water is drained from the cistern
  • Ensure all necessary winter weather precautions have been put into place in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines

Our policies are available to residents of the UK, who have been living permanently in the UK for at least 6 months prior to the purchase of the policy.

Lines are open 8am to 8pm Mon-Fri and 9am to 1pm Sat-Sun. Closed bank holidays. Call charges apply and will vary. Please refer to your network provider for full details. Calls are recorded and may be monitored for training purposes.

CaravanPlan Insurance is a one off annual payment, the price you're quoted for your static caravan insurance is the full amount you pay. Payment can be made by debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express).

You will need to declare any claims made within the last 5 years when completing your quotation. Dependent on the number and type of claims you have made we may not be able to offer cover.

Yes, we offer a discount for an increased excess. The higher the excess you choose, the cheaper your annual insurance premium will be however a minimum premium does apply. Your excess is shown on your policy schedule.

If the change you make results in an additional premium being due, a £15 administration fee will apply.
A £15 administration fee will apply should the change you make generate an additional premium.

If there is any change to your annual premium an additional premium may be required to provide cover until the expiry date of your policy, or alternatively a pro rata refund may be due.

Please visit www.caravanplaninsurance.co.uk and log into ‘My Account’ to change the details of your caravan security online or contact our customer service team on 0343 227 0841 who will be delighted to help you. If a discount applies, this will be calculated on a pro rata basis from the date your policy is updated until the expiry date of your policy and a refund processed back to the card used to purchase your policy.

Your renewal quotation will be issued by email 28 days prior to the policy expiry date, which can be found on your policy schedule. It is easy to renew your policy, simply visit www.caravanplaninsurance.co.uk and log into ‘My Account’ to access your renewal quote online or contact our customer service team on 0343 227 0841 who will be delighted to help you.

If you cancel your policy within the 14 day cooling off period we will provide a full refund of any premium paid, unless you have made a claim or there has been an incident likely to result in a claim. If you wish to cancel the policy after 14 days, we will provide a proportionate refund less a £30 fee. There will be no refund of premium if you have made a claim.

Lines are open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. Please tell us you are insured by CaravanPlan Insurance and provide your unique policy number from your policy schedule. This will help us to confirm your policy details and deal with your claim as quickly as possible.

Your policy schedule shows the excess that you chose when taking out your policy, between £50 to £1,000.

Making a claim will not affect your insurance premium prior to renewing your policy. Your renewal premium may increase due to the reduction of your no claims discount.

Yes, however if a claim has occurred or there has been an incident likely to result in a claim then no refund of premium will be provided. If you pay for your policy by monthly instalments you must pay the remainder of your monthly instalments or pay the remainder of the annual premium in full.

If your caravan has been declared a total loss, your policy will continue. Your sum insured will be automatically be put back to the full amount, subject to the replacement caravan being acceptable for cover.
